Satan and Mr. Waits
Word around the campfire (the internet, to be exact) is that there’s a new Satan in Hollwood. Tom Waits plays him in Terry Gilliams’ (Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Brazil, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) new flick The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

Says Mr. Nighthawks at the Diner, “I am the Devil in the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus–not a devil…The Devil. I don’t know why he (Gilliam) thought of me. I was raised in the church.”
This, along with the addition our new Christian sports director on the show, got my head wheel’s a-spinnin’ to bring you some famous Satans!
In no order:
Rodney Dangerfield in Little Nicky:
The only thing about this movie that got no respect were the reviews. Deservedly so.
Rosalinda Celentano in The Passion of the Christ:
Her Satan was the only bright spot in this Catholic snuff-film.
Dave Grohl in Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny:
The devil went down to Georgia, left behind the fiddle and got behind the kit.
There are 581 Satan charachter listings on IMDB; some famously played by Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, Viggo Mortensen, and Jack Nicholson. But Terry Gilliam and Tom Waits? I can’t wait! The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus will also star Jude Law, Heath Ledger, Collin Farrell, Verne Troyer (!?), and Johnny Depp. This is Heath’s last film.
Word.
